Over the years there has been a reasonable amount of academic work on the hunter-gatherer communities and the fragile environment of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It is perhaps the most detailed account of recent developments in the islands and is made up of articles that were first published in leading Indian publications that include Frontline, The Hindu, Economic and Political Weekly and Sanctuary Asia.
